Neck Procedures
The cervical spine enables head movement and carries nerves that control arm and leg function. Common issues include herniated discs, degeneration, and stenosis, causing pain, stiffness, numbness, or weakness. Most cases are treated without surgery, but when needed, advanced methods like artificial disc replacement and microsurgery are used.
Middle Back Procedures
This part of the spine supports torso movement and contains nerves affecting balance and leg function. Common problems include degeneration, stenosis, and tumors, leading to back pain, balance issues, or bladder/bowel problems. Minimally invasive techniques can often resolve these conditions.
Lower Back Procedures
The lumbar spine carries body weight, enables movement, and houses nerves for leg and bladder function. Dr. Youngwoong Back, affiliated with Asan Medical Center, is a Korean board-certified orthopedic surgeon with over 11 years of experience. He is an esteemed member of the Korean Orthopedic Association, the Korean Shoulder and Elbow Society, and the Korean Society of Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine.

After completing his training in Korea, Dr. Back developed specialized expertise in a range of orthopedic treatments for conditions affecting the shoulder, knee, ankle, and wrist. He also possesses knowledge in knee cartilage regeneration using stem cells. In 2019, Dr. Back further honed his skills in shoulder surgery techniques as a visiting doctor at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, USA. Additionally, he expanded his experience in the UAE, serving as a consultant in orthopedic surgery at three different hospitals, gaining valuable insights into Arab medical practices.

Dr. Back currently serves as an orthopedic consultant for the Spine and Joint Center at KMC, focusing on restoring mobility and optimizing body function through innovative orthopedic treatments.
